Outdoor Project is seeking a full-time Content Marketing and Campaign Manager to join our team and work directly with our content, marketing and sales teams. We’re seeking someone dynamic, creative and passionate as well having editorial experience from writing to editing copy.

Additionally, our ideal candidate will also have the ability to help to execute and manage campaigns. This job is located in Portland, Oregon and is a full time employment opportunity.

The Content Marketing and Campaign Manager’s role is instrumental in successfully implementing Outdoor Project’s business plan, and it reports directly to the Chief Content Officer (CCO). The individual in this role implements all aspects of Outdoor Project’s content marketing efforts, including but not limited to:
• Campaign management on all content campaigns.
• Overseeing and implementing user acquisition and engagement efforts and ensuring paid campaigns are managed such that our advertisers’ expectations are consistently surpassed.
• The Content Marketing and Campaign Manager is responsible for consistently implementing the strategy and reporting outcomes on a daily basis in meetings/supporting the editorial direction (editorial calendar, social media strategy, and contributor rewards program) and working directly with the CCO and full Outdoor Project Team.
• Managing content and promotion on social media.
• Campaign optimization and all content for SEO and social performance.
• Creating, writing and editing content materials, including social posts, e-newsletters and other materials both client and non-client.
• Developing and facilitating project schedules, inventory availability and campaign management reporting.
• Tracking key performance indicators including pageviews, click-through rates, video views, and additional campaign performance metrics via Google Analytics, Facebook, Instagram and Mailchimp. Providing regular campaign metrics and performance updates to account managers.
• Coordinating with sales account managers to allocate/manage promotional budgets to drive traffic to the website for campaign-related content.
• Managing day-to-day coordination of Outdoor Project’s content marketing efforts, including scheduling, publishing and paid promotion via company’s social media channels and newsletter.
• Working closely with the content and sales team on integration and scheduling of editorial calendar content and client campaign content. This includes marketing solutions, editorial sponsorships + content, ideation and creation of branded content.
• Working in tandem with Social Media Coordinator in developing all social media posts (primarily, but not limited to, Facebook and Instagram) including photo selection and caption creation per company’s social media strategy. For client campaigns, creating social mocks for all social posts and coordinate with sales account managers on client reviews/approval.
• Scheduling and creating weekly e-newsletters to promote relevant content prioritizing client campaigns and content aligned with the Editorial Calendar. Balancing promotion of client content with non-client content. Promoting Outdoor Project events and other content marketing initiatives. Tracking and implementing initiatives to increase newsletter readership including list scrubbing, A/B campaign testing, and implementing new newsletter products as requested by the CCO.
• Driving traffic via content marketing efforts on Outdoor Project’s website and social media platforms. Coordinating with CCO and COO to allocate/manage user acquisition budgets to drive traffic to the website. Working with the content team to drive traffic organically back to the site via content creation and SEO.

• A minimum of 2-3 years experience in content marketing, editorial experience, social media and project management and content.
• Excellent people skills and relationship building abilities.
• Strong communication skills: verbal and written, including creative writing.
• Ability to deliver under pressure while managing multiple tasks.
• A demonstrable understanding of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategies and tracking tools.
• A demonstrable awareness of and interest in visual trends in photography and illustration.
• A demonstrable proficiency with the following software tools and platforms is required: Facebook (including Business Manager and Insights), Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, LinkedIn, Hootsuite (or similar social media management platforms), Mailchimp (or similar e-newsletter marketing platform) Adobe Suite including Photoshop, Google Suite, Microsoft Office including PowerPoint and Excel and Google Analytics.
• Full time position, no telecommuting: based in Portland, Oregon office.
