Demand Analyst


Responsible for developing and reporting monthly, quarterly and yearly Sales Plans based on customer demand forecasts, statistical analysis, and market intelligence. The role requires a developed ability to analyze large amounts of data while determining the critical accuracy drivers as well as the ability to develop early warning indicators. The Demand Analyst addresses all inventory issues (internally and externally) affecting delivery and customer service and acts as a liaison between Sales, Planning, Finance and the customer. Communication skills are at a premium in this role.


  • Create statistical forecasts through use of historical sales data as well as market intelligence information such as market trends, POS data and other sources for accurate product forecasts used by planners & buyers to reduce inventory and ensure high level of customer service.
  • Administer and analyze data required to support event forecasting process (i.e. Promotions and plan-o-grams) to ensure Demand Management item information is up-to-date and accurate by maintaining assigned item specific demand points.
  • Prepare, analyze and present demand forecast information in support of the business being conscious of demand expectations and past performance.
  • Perform all Order Maintenance, System Maintenance and provide Customer Service for assigned accounts as required (i.e. resolve issues, track purchase orders, product information and pricing).
  • Customer satisfaction and high service levels as stated in Company goals and objectives.
  • Execute system data maintenance as required to ensure accurate system parameters which drive the forecast process.
  • Inter-departmental communications on all customer expectations and requirements.


  • Education: Essential – BA or BS in Operations Management, Finance, Economics or equivalent. Desirable – MBA
  • Experience: Essential – 3 years experience in key aspects of forecasting, demand planning, inventory control, and/or statistical analysis. Desirable – Sales management and administration, customer service, financial management, inventory control
  • Competencies: Essential – Excel, PowerPoint, ERP systems, Cognos reporting tools
