Leatherman Tool Group, Inc. is seeking a Go To Market Project Manager for our world headquarters located in Portland, Oregon.  Leatherman is the world leader in the design and manufacturer of innovative, high quality, compact, multi-purpose tools.  We employ over 500 team members in our 90,000 square feet facility.

The successful candidate for the Go To Market (GTM) Project Manager role will be responsible for both the GTM process and marketing project management including facilitating proper workflow, resource assignments, prioritization of daily tasks, project planning, stakeholder communications, project brief creation, and overall day-to-day management of assigned project work.

The ideal candidate must be able to:

  • Build, maintain, and communicate project timelines.
  • Assign daily task prioritization and manage workflow to ensure projects are completed on time and GTM milestones are met.  Monitor intermediate and long-term deadlines and key milestones to ensure timely execution.
  • Timely communicate project issues, including but not limited to schedule and quality risks.  Actively seek and communicate mitigation opportunities and solutions.
  • Facilitate operational meetings, both internal and external.
  • Make recommendations for effective and manageable resourcing for incoming work.
  • Create and maintain project templates.
  • Evaluate and adjust project priorities to accommodate changing business needs.
  • Facilitate the drafting of creative briefs to define project objectives, scope and approach.
  • Enable an efficient creative review process, including both internal and external teams, and act as the main point-person throughout the process.  This includes ensuring the creative process supports effective communication and collaboration across all relevant areas, reviewing internal creative processes and identifying optimizations where needed.  May be asked to steward changes and/or research industry best practices.
  • Consolidate creative feedback and effectively communicate changes to creative team.
  • Proofread and quality assurance work to ensure creative standards are met before stakeholder review and final delivery of assets.
  • Manage the calendar and critical category timelines of market entry from point of brief to in-store.
  • Measure/monitor success of each product launch (timelines met, sell in materials as well as sell through support: in-store materials appropriately set on retail floor, advertising support, etc.).
  • Ensure all key sales and marketing milestones are met with proper sales and marketing support (pre-lines, sales meetings, sales samples, retail in-store launch date).
  • Provide department general and administrative support as needed.
  • Additional duties assigned at any point.

Experience and Education Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or other business-related field required.  Four years of directly related marketing experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • 2-4 years of marketing experience is preferred.
  • Intermediate Mac and PC skills including familiarity with Windows-based programs such as Microsoft tools.
  • Experience with Basecamp, JIRA, MS Project, SmartSheet, or similar project management platforms.
  • Familiarity with Adobe design tools (e.g., InDesign, Illustrator, PhotoShop) is preferred.
  • Possesses strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously of varying scale and complexity.
  • Highly motivated team player and self-starter.
  • Displays excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent skills in interpersonal relationships, communication and teamwork
  • Effectively problem solve, prioritize, and follow through on assignments and projects.
  • Work collaboratively with all levels of the company across multiple departments; develop strong and trusting relationships stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • An understanding of global marketing trends, tools, platforms and best practices.
  • A passion and genuine interest in the outdoor, hook and bullet and industrial industries.
  • Ability to possibly travel for company events, up to 1-2 weeks per year.
