Portland A&O is once again proud to partner with Angela Medlin—a business growth mentor and A&O industry leader—for a brand development workshop called JUMPSTART.
The 4-part program will focus on storytelling strategies and brand development in key areas: Founder, Brand, Consumer, and Product. 6 companies will be selected to participate in this exclusive opportunity.
2-hour interactive sessions will take place every two weeks between January and February 2025 and will be conducted in-person at the Prosper Portland offices. The workshop is targeted towards founders of direct-to-consumer brands, early-stage entrepreneurs and founders of traded sector companies, and product-based companies in the Athletic & Outdoor or Consumer Products space.
Founded by corporate leader and business founder Angela Medlin, JUMPSTART seeks to empower those who are starting a new journey into entrepreneurship or existing business owners looking to sharpen their existing brand story by offering insight into start up processes, setting measurable goals, and defining the identity of their consumer, brand attributes, products, and/or services.
Hear what the class of 2024 had to say about the program:
“I feel like this workshop really helped me refine my story and gave me the confidence to talk about myself and my business in front of people in an organized way that I probably wouldn’t have been able to do before.”
—Jennifer Plaster Waddell, Portland Caramel Company
“I have reworked nearly all of my website to better tell my shop’s story. My About page is a version of my Founder Story created in the first week of JUMPSTART, while my brand story is woven into my Welcome Email series. All of the skills that I learned let me confidently redesign my website and automated emails, but more importantly, it forced me to think outside the box when it comes to finding customers.”
—Josie Stewart, The Luminous Pets
“JUMPSTART provided me with a deeper, more conscious understanding of storytelling. While I always recognized its importance intellectually, I struggled to fully appreciate its practical significance. I realized how storytelling influences my attraction to certain brands—a connection I hadn’t previously acknowledged. I can now understand what this means for my brand.”
—Rachelle Jacob-Wendler, Soul Space Incense
