The Mayor’s International Business Awards program, launched in 2009, seeks to elevate the awareness of the importance of international trade to Portland’s regional economy. Expanding Portland’s traded sector industries will support living-wage job growth and have a significant impact on the regional economy. The city and its partners are guided by the Greater Portland Export Plan, developed in partnership with Greater Portland Inc. and the Brookings Institution, to connect local companies to international opportunities and drive export activity. Sponsored by the City of Portland and the Oregon Consular Corps, this year’s International Business Awards and Scholarship Dinner will take place on Tuesday, May 14, from 6:00-9:00 pm at the Portland Art Museum Kridel Ballroom.
Adidas America will be awarded the Foreign Direct Investment award for their substantial investment and employment in the City of Portland.
Asiana Airlines, AIMCO, and Elemental Technologies will be among the award recipients for three additional categories.
