The number one priority for the Design Director is to create, articulate, and execute the KEEN Design DNA in a way that delivers a premium product consumer experience and supports KEEN’s core values. Essential is elevating the consumer experience through superior product craft and pushing the limits of Design.

The Design Director will work closely with the Category Business Directors, the VP Merchandising, Product Line Management and Project Management (Development) to facilitate the seasonal projects. The Design Director is the creative lead on all the projects in development.  Besides driving individual projects, the Design Director will be the creative backbone on all the other projects which are in the development process including KEEN Innovation Lab initiatives.


  • Design
    • Creates the short- and long-term design vision and strategies with a focus on innovation and craft; communicates creative vision and direction to key stakeholders.
    • Creates and publishes a design guide which communicates the KEEN Design DNA.
    • Develops strong consumer-oriented points of view and leads the design team in executing the vision in seasonal product launches.
    • Works closely with the International Development Center to ensure design consistency, improved speed to market & quality.
    • Oversees execution of all product details, including construction detail, last, color, form, style, detail, graphic application, logo treatment, trim – all married to the KEEN Design language.
    • Leads, influences, and delivers premium product across categories (Lifestyle, Kids, Trailhead, Waterfront).
    • Supports the ongoing out-sourcing of design capacity.
    • Helps create and support the Footwear Materials process.
    • Manages daily activities involving numerous design projects and concepts.
    • Executes own seasonal design concepts with the intent to promote additional ideas beyond what is briefed – Player/Coach.
  • Trend Research
    • Travels to trade shows, suppliers, global retail markets and liaison offices to discover, source, learn about, replenish, and develop trend information, materials, and new technologies.
    • Engages leading trend organizations to bring direction and inspiration to team – workshops & teaching.
    • Manages special material related projects including development where appropriate.
  • Management
    • Builds, manages, and develops a cross-functional design team (Graphics, Color, Materials); sets team and individual goals that align with department and function goals.
    • Effectively plans and executes seasonal tasks among internal and external designers.
    • Manages/balances internal designers, material expert, color artist, and external designers.
    • Challenges and inspire members to achieve design excellence and DNA.
    • Organizes creative off-sites with creative team to be at the forefront of what the markets need and, more importantly, expect.
    • Maintains strong cross-functional relationships and builds matrix relationships across KEEN, ROFU, FIL and factory affiliates in service of the vision & strategy.


  • 10+ years of footwear design experience.
  • Bachelor in Design or related field.
  • Demonstrated understanding of leather, textile, and footwear components.
  • In-depth knowledge of design process.
  • Skills within illustration, whether this being freehand or computer aided (Illustrator/Photoshop/3D).
  • Proven ability to develop and inspire teams through accessibility, empowerment, regular communication, and recognizing and celebrating successes.
  • Proven experience in identifying and planning for the development of technical skills, teamwork skills, and leadership skills.
  • Experience leading strategic development and planning for a design team —in line with company direction.
  • Strategic thinking and visioning; understands product relevance, positioning, timing and collections.

Social Media Manager

The Social Media Manger will help create and execute the social media strategy that rapidly grows KEEN’s brand engagement with current and new fans. This role will also support the Senior Social Media Manager to maintain a live and active relationship with contributors, communicate editorial calendars with regional marketing partners and help curate and create social content, including long form editorial, photography, video and ambassador integration.


  • Assist in the development of the social media strategy that defines how the KEEN brand is leveraged across all relevant digital media platforms, with an emphasis on setting strategic direction, developing KPI’s, segmenting identified audiences and innovating on tactical execution.
  • Working closely with our DTC owners, help execute the strategy and plan that drives commerce across our social platforms and helps drive email acquisition.
  • Manage and execute a paid media strategy and plan that helps drive awareness and engagement across our key seasonal marketing and Ecom initiatives.
  • Assist in the planning and management of the social media editorial calendar, ensuing its leveraging the brand broadcast calendar and helping to amplify marketing and Ecom initiatives throughout the year.
  • Working closely with key Category Marketing, Ecom and Customer Service leads, help develop and manage a community strategy for managing one-to-one conversations with our current and new fans.
  • Partner with the KEEN Effect team to proactively seek opportunities for social content related to amplification of the brand values, sustainability, philanthropy, supply chain, and activism efforts across all channels.
  • Curate and when necessary create additional content for our digital platforms, including the KEEN Blog and all relevant social media platforms.
  • Working with the Senior Social Media Manager and Global Ambassador Manager, incorporate KEEN Ambassadors content into the social editorial calendar and manage online conversations across our KEEN Ambassador platform.
  • Provide regular updates and co-ordinate editorial calendars with our subsidiary social media managers.
  • Provide campaign specific and monthly social media reports to include on-going recommendations how to improve performance metrics.


  • 3+ years of experience in social media strategy, execution and community management, either on the agency or brand side.
  • Passionate about the social media world and a social influencer in your own right.
  • Proficient in photography, video and writing skills.
  • Planning and project management skills.
  • Thrives in a lean, fast-paced environment.

Digital Marketing Manager


Production Sewing

We are a growing golf accessory business in Beaverton, Oregon. While this is a part time position for now, we expect the needs to fluctuate through the holidays and it may or may not increase or decrease in the future.

Production consists of sewing straight lines, and working with a variety of materials to include wool, canvas, leather, fleece, and elastic. Must have ability to make bags with zippers. Many tools are used to manufacture, and thus the ability to work with industrial straight stitch, walking foot, and surger are requirements for this position.

Compensation can be paid per piece and in some cases hourly and based on experience / abilities. Must produce quality products. Inability to produce products on a timely basis and of the appropriate quality may result in termination. Fabrics, hardware, thread, and required notions will be provided.

Compensation: Pay is generally by piece and will in some cases be hourly. Market rate is based on the average time taken by an intermediate experience seamstress. Employee will not be compensated for items that are unsellable due to a lack in quality. Individual earnings will vary based on skill, machine, process, and hours but can range.

Social Media Campaign Supervisor

The Social Media position is responsible for implementing all facets of the social media marketing segment for SEAMUS GOLF.

Direct hands – on responsibility for monitoring and interacting with digital influencers in key spaces such as Instagram, Snap Chat, Facebook, & Twitter.  This includes content development, photo uploading / editing, responding to customer service inquiries, engaging with existing / prospecting customers, maintaining brand across all channels, and initiating campaigns to respectfully disrupt the golf space with class and style.

Production Assistant

Beckel Canvas Products

This position could be full-time or part-time. The person in this position would be responsible for cleaning, “finishing” products that have been sewn together (IE clipping threads, grommeting, turning bags, folding, etc.). They would also be responsible for shipping and miscellaneous office tasks like filing and printing and restocking forms around the store. This person needs to be able to work independently and be self motivated. They also need to have an attention for detail. Some computer experience in word and excel is also necessary.

Product Development Coordinator

Job Duties include:

Product Dev Tracking Sheet

We have product dev tracking sheet for each factory we are working with. Green Market (GM) and our colleagues in China will update these sheets every week. The developer needs to go over every details closely to see if there is anything wrong, like sample delay. Regularly, our colleagues, Becky & Eva (B & E) will update the tracking sheet on every Friday, and Green Market will update on every Wednesday.

The daily communication will result many changes, the developer should update these changes on the tracking sheet. In a word, the developer should always keep these dev tracking sheets updated.

Prepare Meetings

  • Regular Meetings
    • Development Calendar Review
      There is a “development calendar review” on every Monday morning, the developer should prepare the documents (tracking sheets) that may affect the calendar, to discuss with Sean and Carl to see if the calendar needs to be updated.
    • Call conference with GM
      We have a call with GM every Wednesday to discuss product development and production schedule. The developer should print out all the tracking sheets, and come up with any questions and concerns. Also, the developer should update the tracking sheets with any changes mentioned in that call. Every Tuesday, the developer should email GM the current tracking sheets to let GM update for the Wednesday call.
  • Non-Regular Meetings
    The developer should ask for the material will be used in the meetings and prepare.

Monitor and Track the sample shipments
We will receive samples shipped from GM and China factories every week. The developer has to understand what are these samples for, and track the shipment. When we receive a package, the developer need to check if we receive everything mentioned in the email, and label the sample if it’s not labeled. Set up the merchandise wall and notice related colleagues to review these samples.

Communication Between Designer and China Side

  • Artwork Flow to China
    The developer works with the designer to control the artwork flow to China, and the artworks could be color and material direction (CAD), tech packs, and etc. The developer is responsible to make sure that every party gets the artworks they need.
  • The developer is a communication bridge between China side and the designer. Our colleagues in China will come up with many requests and questions, sometimes, which requires the developer to work with the designer. The developer has to remind the designer of the question came from China side to make sure the process works very efficiently.

Packaging Matrix
Make sure that each style of product has the correct packaging information, and update the details when packaging info changed in the actual production. Please pay attention to the hang tags, that until now, we have three kinds of hangtags, white label hangtag, green label hangtag and tan label hangtag, we need to give the factories very clear instruction to prevent them getting confused.

Amortization Sheet
After the production orders placed, the developer needs to update the amortization sheet. Keeping our own copy of amortization sheet has the following benefits:

  • Compare with the CBD sheets from the factories, to see if they remove the amortization cost which has been paid off.
  • The designer is able to think about, designing more products to share the lasts that are not paid off.
  • The company can budget based on amortization cost needs to pay factories.

Merchandise Sheet
The developer should know how to make simples changes on merchandise sheet and CADs, using Illustrator.

Pricing and Costing
Understand how to read cost breakdown sheets from factories, email back to ask any question. Try to find out the cost which could be less to lower the cost. And then, make sure pricing updated in the SGPA, and prepare a cost review meeting.

Fitting Test
Know when the fitting samples will arrive, and schedule fitting testers to come in advance because it not easy to let them in on the date we prefer if it’s not schedule in advance. Understand how to use the measurement to measure testers’ size. Also, the developer has to keep an eye out of potential fitting testers whose size is samples size (W’s size 7, 9, and 11 & M’s size 8, 9, 11, and 13).

We don’t have budget to pay fitting tester, but our compensation is:

Name legal issue search
As launching a new season, the developer should do search to see if the product names will have potential legal issue with other brands, like Nike, Adidas, Columbia and etc.

Last and Paper Pattern Library
The developer is responsible for the last and paper pattern library, we need to keep lasts and paper patterns for all the styles we have been making. Specifically, the developer should ask factories to provide the lasts and paper pattern of new style after production.
