Startup Row, the location of the first class of winners from the Startup PDX Challenge located in Produce Row would like to welcome semifinalist Seamus Golf to the space to replace a departing startup. Seamus Golf is an Oregon based firm that specializes in handcrafted woolen golf accessories.
Seamus Golf co-owners, Akbar & Megan Chisti, combine Akbar’s desire for traditional yet functional tartan head covers inspired from European golf courses, along with Megan’s array of experience in design, sewing, woolen products and her precise attention to detail. Seamus Golf has been featured in the Wall St. Journal, CBS Sports, OregonLive, and other media outlets. Akbar explains, “We were so lucky to become a part of the Startup PDX Challenge, we’ve never had the infrastructure to truly manage our business and with the help of the grant, we hope to further our production capacity and employment of local artisans.”
