PORTLAND, OREGON (September 30, 2015) – Outdoor Project—found online at outdoorproject.com—announced their content sharing collaboration with Travel Oregon in an effort to make it easier for people to plan outdoor adventures in Oregon.
The partnership facilitates the sharing of outdoor ideas supplementing Travel Oregon’s existing editorial with adventure content from Outdoor Project. With so much to offer in Oregon, Outdoor Project will supply Travel Oregon with adventure content for hiking, camping, kayaking, mountain biking, special destinations and more. That content will access rich media, Field Guides and Maps, and all the detailed information people need to get out and have their own adventure.
“Outdoor recreation is a vital part of our tourism economy in Oregon, which generates $10.3 billion for the state’s economy and directly employs more than 101,000 Oregonians,” said Mo Sherifdeen, Director of Global Integrated Marketing at Travel Oregon. “”This partnership gives us trusted expert advice and recommendations to share with visitors and Oregonians to inspire them to explore all of the state.”
Over the coming months, Outdoor Project’s adventures will be added to various itineraries and stories on TravelOregon.com. For example, when someone looks at a story such as “Willamette Valley Trails, Wineries and Covered Bridges,” Travel Oregon will supplement that story with related adventure ideas from Outdoor Project. These related adventures will appear at the bottom of select stories and is designed to invite readers to discover other trails and adventures in that region.
Tyson Gillard, CEO of Outdoor Project, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “From the get go we’ve looked to Travel Oregon as role model in the way they inspire people about a place through innovative and creative marketing, so I couldn’t be more excited to be working with them. And it’s an added bonus that the majority of our team is from Oregon.”
