Local businesses achieve national recognition with new partnerships

At the end of February 2024, local Portland gender-fluid apparel brand Wildfang announced its first wholesale partnership with Urban Outfitters. The news was the latest in an exciting trend of local Portland brands ascending to the global stage through retail agreements with major brands.

Earlier this year, OMORPHO announced its own partnership with DICK’S Sporting Goods, which will see the brand’s micro-weighted training apparel available at select DICK’S locations across the United States. OMORPHO apparel will be featured in-store in an interactive display that encourages consumers to try on and test products before purchasing.

These deals are especially critical for small businesses still recovering from the aftereffects of the COVID-19 pandemic. “We’re here and bigger and better than ever,” said Wildfang founder and CEO Emma Mcllroy. “(Expanding our brand) was part of our focus coming out of the pandemic.”

Wildfang plans to expand through more wholesale partnerships in the later half of 2024 and into early 2025. Read more about Wildfang’s partnership with Urban Outfitters and OMORPHO’s deal with DICK’S Sporting Goods.
