Earlier this month, the cast of beloved soccer series Ted Lasso danced the night away at a Screen Actors Guild afterparty in custom Nike tracksuits manufactured by Portland’s own Portland Garment Factory (PGF). This event commemorated the cast’s final appearance together at a major award show after the conclusion of the show’s third and final season.
The opportunity came about through PGF’s longstanding partnership with Nike, which supplied the designs for the tracksuits. “PGF has had the opportunity to partner with various teams at Nike over the past 15 years, from creating custom artistic retail store displays to working with the Jordan Brand to doing high-end collaborative productions like the Ted Lasso job,” says PGF founder and Creative Director Britt Howard. “Our relationship with the creative crew at Nike gets stronger with each project!”
Complete with the fictional AFC Richmond logo, a Nike swoosh, and eye-catching red and white piping, each suit was tailored and customized to the cast members’ specifications and preferences.
Featured in national publications such as PEOPLE magazine, this high-profile collaboration has elevated PGF’s visibility. “There was definitely more hype and praise from the community at large. I think it’s a testament to the show and characters,” notes Howard. “The national press and recognition of the tracksuits themselves has made us feel super proud.”
